With the marathon a distant memory, well almost, and the legs recovered nicely it was time to venture out and go for an easy run - checked with Jackie (top coach!) and she agreed to let me out and play as long as I took it easy.
With ace running partners Ruth and Tony to lead me astray we ventured from New Mills, up through Thornsett, across the back of Lantern Pike, up to the Trig point on the top and then down the other side (reverse direction to the Kinder Trog race) and then back on to the Sett Valley trail into New Mills via the reservoir.
A lovely bright day, but misty so most of Kinder Scout was missing from the skyline - loads of birds about (feathered) including some pheasants and a group of guinea fowl who made a real racket. It was a really nice run apart from Ruth getting an injured calf on the way back along the trail.
