Well the first day of a new training schedule sees me only having to run an easy 4-6 miles - the focus is on quality sessions, speedwork and for the rest of this year shorter races (half marathon and down), and most importantly enjoying it !
The 'easy' run was done on road through New Mills, up the long hill towards Shiloh Road, across towards Charlesworth and a loop back round again, average pace was just slightly over 8 min/miles which is good considering the length of hill - the legs are starting to feel good now and I'm so happy to be back running 'properly'.
Some great noises from the curlews as darkness fell - they were continually swooping down towards the ground - must be nesting sites there.
Another thing on the bird front I have spotted our bull finches in the garden again - my favourite garden bird, with the gold finch a very close second, must get out in the garden for an hours 'maintenence' tomorrow.
